Privacy policy
Cotco is designed to need as little information about you as possible.
No accounts
Cotco has no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles. You can use every calculator and every data page without identifying yourself.
Calculator inputs
Prices, sizes, waste rates, use counts, and other calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not transmitted to or stored by Cotco. Where a tool supports sharing a result, the values are encoded in the URL you choose to share — nowhere else.
Searches against public data
Barcode lookups, recall searches, and price-trend requests are forwarded to the relevant public data provider (Open Food Facts, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, or the Statistics Canada) in order to return a result. Those providers have their own privacy practices. Cotco does not attach an identity to these requests.
Analytics
Cotco collects aggregate usage measurements such as page views, referrers, approximate region, and device type in order to understand which tools are useful. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to build advertising profiles by Cotco.
Advertising and third parties
Pages may include third-party advertising or affiliate links. Those third parties may set cookies or similar identifiers subject to their own policies, and an affiliate program may record that a click came from Cotco in order to attribute a purchase. See the affiliate disclosure.
Cookies
Cotco does not require cookies to function. Any cookies present come from analytics or third-party advertising as described above, and you can block them in your browser without losing access to the tools.
Children
Cotco is a general-audience shopping utility and is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your requests
Because Cotco does not hold accounts or personal profiles, there is usually nothing to export or delete. If you believe Cotco holds information about you, or you have a privacy question, use the contact page.
Changes
